Tom Mesereau has more than 29
years of experience in publishing and
marketing. He was previously director of
marketing for United Shipping Associates,
a worldwide network comprised of inde-
pendently owned and operated international freight forwarders and customs brokers. He was responsible
for the organization’s printed materials,
public relations and advertising functions,
member relations and planning and
implementing twice-yearly worldwide meetings.
Prior to joining United Shipping Associates, Tom worked as an independent contractor providing marketing communications services to a wide-ranging list of retail and business-to-business clients.
Tom joined Babcox Publications in Akron, Ohio in 1982 as associate editor of BodyShop Business, a start-up trade magazine distributed to the collision repair and refinish industry. He was promoted to editor in 1985 and held that post until 1990. Under his leadership, the magazine became the largest publication in the automotive aftermarket.
Tom graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a bachelor of science degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations.
Mona Mesereau has more than
28 years of experience promoting and
reporting on the hospitality and travel
industries.
Prior to launching Mesereau Public Relations
in August 1996, she was held corporate
communications positions with hospitality
companies including Denver-based Richfield
Hospitality Services, one of the largest hotel-
management companies in the country, Stouffer Hotels and Resorts (now called Renaissance Hotels and Resorts). She also has been senior editor of Lodging Hospitality Magazine and assistant editor for Nestle Enterprises.
She is an active member of the Society of American Travel Writers, presently serves on the Western Chapter membership committee, served on the organization’s national convention sites and national parks committees and was co-chair of the May 2001 Western Chapter meeting in Rapid City, SD. She also has served on the Communications Committee of the American Hotel & Motel Association.
A native of the Cleveland area, she has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
